This series is so messed up but I love it as it shows the possibility what can happen if we forget our basic instincts and surrender everything to something else in order to live a better life but the consequences can become really ugly

basically what will happen if robots took over the world lol

ihavenolife • 2 years ago

even how our society is right now is better

Just started the episode but suddely thought of something. I think MC is also one of the people that can commit crimes without getting clouded. I mean her hue didn't ever become bad right, even when she saw her friend being killed.

She is...

Hopping into the comments at 8 minutes in because that is probably one of the grimmest scenes I have ever seen, stripped and beaten with a hammer in a public place with people calmly recording it on their phones and a robot asks you if you are distressed... just slowly dying when anyone could have helped.... fuck I'm honestly shook... it went on for so long as well I'm a bit traumatised.

I hope you finished the show, most of those brutal scenes are to really make a point, the writer of this manga and anime, has a grim outlook on how our society might end up, for people that can survive this show and appreciate the deepest meanings and most horrific acts as a warning sign, for us, as a society, to avoid this outcome. that is the whole intention.

this society is so messed up- they just watched the girl die

Rudro • 2 years ago

In my opinion, makishima is right.
What he is doing is right, his target is right. He is doing it for something. Lelouch killed many people for the happiness of more. Eren killed almost whole world for his friends....then how is that dude WRONG?
I have said it in many comments, but

Arguments like yours really annoy me cause you are just dong this to satisfy your anti hero admiration. Makishima has caused the death of hundreds if not thousands of people for his amusement. If you think he is not bad, then you must think terrorists, killers etc are not bad either. The Sibyl system is bad, but that doesn't make Makishima right. He killed innocent people who had nothing to do with Sibyl

So a serial killer kills your entire family and gets caught by the police. But instead of jailing him they let him go free and even possibly awards him. Would you still call that justice? The only reason you say this is because it isn't you. It wasn't your loved ones who were harmed; its just a movie so you don't care.

the end does not necessarily justify the means, not in the real world anyhow, when it comes to anime, many boundaries can be broken, clear lines of right and wrong can be blurred, we ask these questions even now, would we kill as much as 300 people to save billions? the answer is clear in anime, but in the real world, the answer can't always be as clear. you can tell yourself that you would, but your mind would probably crack under the mental stress before you kill even one person
(unless you have 0 empathy, 0 understanding of humans, and 0 appreciation for the value of 1 life.)
This is a difficult anime, that raises questions of how our society would look like if we would give control to an AI and relinquish our will to decide for ourselves. hard truths, justice is only in the eyes of one who sees it as one, evil, is a part of our nature, be it anything that can cause harm to another living being, physical or mental.

ihavenolife • 2 years ago

i mean in many anime they try to save everyone no matter what the cost and like you said, Code Geass and AOT are examples of that. Death Note is like that too.

That was one of the most disturbing anime scenes ever. No less shocking than when I first saw it. I guess it's only natural for the Bystander Effect to become prevalent in a society where people are little more than marionettes.

that scene is so....surreal.....
and chaos starts to break out

Okay that system really leads the evolution of the humanjust backward

KimiG • 2 years ago

The thing with this anime plot is that characters call themselves detectives of psycho pass and investigators but no investigating is taking place like even the obvious deduction if each crime is taking them double the time to figure out like it's ridiculous and it's getting more annoying each episode

kogami is wearing that jacket again so does that mean he bought a new one of the same kind or washed all the blood off of it?
